CURRENT PROJECTS

COMPLETED PROJECTS

CCST focuses on issues that are timely and important to California's future. In 2015 CCST convened six Science and Technology Issue Area Committees which, in concert with three Standing Organizational Committees, assist with plans, ideas, and potential projects for CCST. Most of our projects result in the publication of a report or a series of reports. All of our publications are available for download.

To provide sound, science-based input to the State of California, CCST ensures all of the following in our reports:

  • We convene world-class experts to develop the assessments
  • We ensure full disclosure of conflicts of interest
  • We conduct thorough, objective work based on scientifically sound principles
  • We ensure rigorous peer review before reports are published

CCST is proud to uphold these standards in all of our work and ensure the best input to policymakers, leading to policies made stronger with science - in California and beyond.

S&T ISSUE AREA COMMITTEES

  1. Executive Committee
  2. New Technology and Innovation Committee
  3. Water Committee
  4. Energy Committee
  5. Life Sciences Committee
  6. Education Committee
These Issue Area Committees routinely discuss current topics relevant to California policy; brainstorm on potential decision-makers that should be met with to discuss these issues; and present these ideas to the entire Council for consideration.

Note that CCST projects, which have specific timelines, are different from CCST's ongoing programs (Science and Technology Policy Fellows, California Teacher Advisory Council, and Senior Fellows). For information on these programs and how they fit into CCST's overall operations, click here.
