Judith Frankel serves as Director of Philanthropy for the California Council on Science and Technology, where she looks forward to helping to build a strong case for California philanthropists to invest in science-informed decisions and policy. Most recently, Judith served as Vice President of Development for the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank, where she provided leadership to increase annual support by major individual and foundation supporters, while also heading up successful fundraising for a major building expansion. Prior to that, she served as Deputy Director of Development at the San Francisco Opera, where she oversaw the areas of principal giving, legacy giving, research and endowment campaign. In her previous positions, Judith partnered with boards of directors on matters of strategy, feasibility and recruitment. Before transitioning to nonprofit development, Judith worked in business-to-business, database and technology marketing, including with Cisco Systems.
She earned Bachelor’s and Master’s of Arts degrees in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Frankel has served on the board of directors for the Golden Gate Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.
