Amber Mace, PhD Executive Director

Good afternoon,

I hope you, your families, friends, and colleagues are doing well in these challenging times. At CCST we are paying close attention to the guidelines and directives coming from our local and State leaders in response to the rapidly-evolving COVID-19 situation. Last week, our Sacramento-based office began working from home to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. I’m proud of how quickly our team adapted to these new work environments and how productive they continue to be. In addition to progressing in our current projects, we are making plans for how to continue to connect with all of you via remote updates.

The need for our work to bring science to inform policy has not diminished; if anything, we expect it to increase as our state responds to this new crisis while still managing other critical challenges. The COVID-19 health crisis is unprecedented in our time, and as a state we must also continue to prepare for wildfire season, meet our emissions reduction goals, and create policy to maintain the 5th largest economy in the world. CCST stands ready to continue our role as a nonpartisan science and technology resource for the state.

We will continue to adapt how we deliver our work and collaborate with our expert partners and CCST Science Fellows to meet decision maker needs as they evolve—we have never been clearer about the necessity and importance of bringing science and technology to decision makers in California.

We will continue to keep you updated and informed on our work to make California’s policies stronger with science.

Stay safe, and stay informed:
