Tyrel is a PhD candidate at the University of Kentucky’s Microbiology, Immunology and Molecular Genetics (MIMG) department. His research focuses on lipid signaling of macrophages and how that can promote regeneration during wound healing. Additional responsibilities include being president of the Kentucky Advocates for Science Policy and Research (KASPR) chapter where he is promotes science communication and policy initiatives.
