Washington, DC—The California Council on Science and Technology is attending the 2023 AAAS Annual Meeting in Washington, DC, themed around “Science for Humanity.”

Returning in person this year, CCST coordinated two workshops, a scientific session, and an exhibitor booth for the CCST S&T Policy Fellowship in partnership with other state science policy fellowship programs.

Attendees include CCST CEO Amber Mace and Deputy Director Sarah Brady, who are respectively moderating and participating on CCST-coordinated panels. CEO Mace attended the opening plenary session by National Academy of Sciences President Marcia McNutt, examining the past, present, and future of the research enterprise.

Alums of the CCST S&T Policy Fellowship are in attendance to meet potential applicants and to share their experiences with the program and background on their career trajectories. In an exciting collaboration this year, CCST is sharing the exhibitor booth with other state level science policy fellowship programs, including the MOST Policy Initiative, COVES Fellows, Idaho S&T Policy Fellowship, Eagleton Science & Politics Program, CASE, COPA-STEP, and more.

CCST is coordinating two workshops and a scientific session during the conference.
