Jessica grew up in San Pablo, CA, and earned her undergraduate degree in Botany from SFSU. After graduating, she worked at the YMCA and the SFSU Housing Department, where she gained valuable experience in community engagement and management. It was a college biology professor who inspired her to pursue further education. Jessica went on to receive her PhD from UC Davis, where she deepened her expertise in biology and developed a strong interest in policy. She is eager to understand how policy decisions are made and contribute to evidence-based solutions for pressing issues in California. Passionate about making a positive impact, Jessica is committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity and collaboration, ensuring that the voices of all stakeholders are heard and valued in the policymaking process.
