Raised in Tracy, CA, Erin sought to understand the “Dam Water Grows Food” signs on I-5. She researched dwindling salmon populations in Sacramento, which motivated her stakeholder-engaged work. For her PhD, she investigated the effects of marine heatwaves on the red sea urchin, a key fishery species.
