Seeking Speakers and Panelists for CCST Legislative Academy on AI

Overview

CCST has recently launched a Legislative Academy on AI, an educational initiative designed to support foundational understanding and policy fluency around artificial intelligence among California’s legislative staff.

Inaugural Phase

Beginning this Fall, the inaugural phase includes four key events:

  • AI Fundamentals Seminar
  • Roundtable Discussion
  • Site Visits
  • Tech & Innovation Showcase

Roles Needed

CCST is seeking nominations for expert speakers and roundtable panelists to participate in our AI Fundamentals Seminar and Roundtable Discussions:

1. Seminar Speakers

Experts able to give short (20–30 minute) talks introducing core AI concepts to a non-technical audience. Suggested topics include:

  • History and key AI terminology
  • Natural Language Processing (NLP)
  • Computer Vision
  • AI & Automation
  • Digital Twins
  • AI for Government
  • AI Safety & Privacy
  • AI in Science, Energy, and the Environment

2. Roundtable Panelists

Participate in a Roundtable on AI & Workforce Development, bringing practical insight into how AI is reshaping education and workforce pipelines.
