Alexandra Colón-Rodríguez joined CCST as a Program Assistant for the COVID-19 Workstream of the Disaster Resilience Initiative and in the Fall will join the 2022 cohort of the CCST Science and Technology Policy Fellows.
Alexandra pursued two postdoctoral research positions at the University of California, Davis. The first one focused on neurogenetics, and the second one focused on behavioral neuroscience and science communication. While at UC Davis, she also developed and led the Science Communication Training Program for Faculty in the College of Biological Sciences, served as a mentor and an educator.
Alexandra obtained a dual major Ph.D. focused on neuroscience and environmental toxicology at Michigan State University, where she studied the effects of the environmental toxicant methylmercury on the nervous system. She received her B.S. in Applied Microbiology from Universidad Ana G. Méndez in Carolina, Puerto Rico.
