Jeff Foote is a teacher at Kermit Mckenzie Jr. High in the Guadalupe School District. His B.A. in Spanish has served well in this small district with a very high percentage of Spanish speakers. His M.A. is in Educational Administration, but classroom teaching is his love. He has been in leadership of a variety of National Science Foundation partnerships, as well as regional and state level technology projects. He has been an e-mentor with eMSS, helped design ‘SCALE’ a pilot project with UC Santa Barbara and US Fish & Wildlife using GIS and ‘spatial learning’ for field studies, and served 3 years on CalTAC. He is currently co-director of Central Coast Science Project at Cal Poly SLO, and is excited about working with others on how ‘CER’ Claim Evidence Reasoning practices can be developed in science classes to profoundly influence how students think, speak, and write in all areas.
He served on CalTAC from 2009-2012.
