Darrel James is a high school teacher at Fred C. Beyer High School in Modesto. Darrel teaches Advanced Placement Biology, Pre-Advanced Placement Biology, and College Prep Biology. In 2001, he received the National Association of Biology Teachers’ Outstanding Biology Teacher Award. Darrel has been an AP Biology workshop presenter for the College Board for the past 25 years. He was also a reader, table leader, and Assistant Chief Reader at the AP Biology exam reading for 21 years.
He served as district science coordinator for three years and taught Anatomy and Physiology at Modesto Junior College for 25 years. He has also completed freelance work for three publishers proofreading and contributing to science textbooks.
He joined CalTAC in 2013 and was appointed CalTAC Vice Chair in 2014.
