Megan Cook is a high school Chemistry teacher at Cordova High School, in Rancho Cordova, California. As part of an International Bacccalaureate school, she teaches Middle Years Programme Honors Chemistry, Chemistry, and Diploma Programme Chemistry and works within several of the Career Technical Education Academies on campus. Megan studied Chemistry at Sonoma State University. In addition, she earned her teaching credential from Sonoma State. She is actively involved in implementing Common Core and Next Generation Science Standards in her district and the region.
In 2014, Megan was selected to attend the Library of Congress Summer Institute for Science Teachers to work with the Library and fellow science teachers on designing lessons that utilize primary sources in the classroom. She has been involved with reviewing and realigning curriculum to the NGSS standards at the district, county, and state levels. Megan is an enthusiast for the direction science education is shifting and presents professional development for teachers at her site, in the district and in the region and she is dedicated to the development of inquiry based curriculum in all classrooms.
Cook joined CalTAC in 2015.
