After a 32-year career as a California high school mathematics teacher, Sandie left the classroom and is now working with both pre-service teachers at Colorado College and those wishing to reflect upon and perfect their classroom teaching, as well as to further math education research with university colleagues and continue her own life-long learning. “At some point in one’s teaching career, there comes a time to give back for all that was given to you, and to pass along to others the professional knowledge learned along the journey.”
Sandie is the First Vice-President of the National Council of Supervisors of Mathematics. Her publications include, “Yes, You Can: Teaming to Support Lower-Attaining Students in Accessing Algebra” in A. Flores & C. Malloy (eds.) Mathematics for Every Student, Responding to Diversity, Grades 9-12; National Council of Teachers of Mathematics.
She served on Cal TAC from 2005-2008.
