Professor of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences
Hodges is a Professor in the Graduate School, Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences at UC Berkeley. He was the Daniel M. Tellep Distinguished Professor of Engineering, 1997-98 and Dean of the College of Engineering 1990-96. He has been principal investigator for research grants including the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the National Science Foundation, SEMATECH, Semiconductor Research Corporation and the State of California MICRO Program. He is Director, Mentor Graphics Corporation, 1995-2002; Director, Silicon Image, Inc., 1996-present; Trustee, International Computer Science Institute, 1990-2001; and Consultant or Advisor to SEMATECH, Intel Corporation, Sandia National Laboratories, Texas Instruments Inc., Xerox Corp., Siemens, and others at various times since 1971.
Dr. Hodges received a M.S. (1961) and Ph.D. (1966) in Electrical Engineering from UC Berkeley. His honors and awards include the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Education Medal, 1997; member of the National Academy of Engineering; and Fellow of the IEEE.
