Tina S. Nova, Ph.D. is President and CEO of Molecular Stethoscope and has extensive experience in the creation of start-up companies and the commercialization of products with a focus on molecular diagnostics. Tina spent 15 years as the co-founder, President and CEO of the publicly-traded company, Genoptix Medical Laboratories, from inception to its acquisition by Novartis Pharmaceuticals in 2011. She has worked for, managed, raised capital and co-founded a number of early-stage innovative biotechnology companies in San Diego including Nanogen, Inc., Ligand Pharmaceuticals and Hybritech, Inc.
Nova holds a B.S. degree in biological sciences from the University of California, Irvine and a Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of California, Riverside. She was named one of the Top 10 Women in Biotech in 2011 by FierceBiotech and was recently featured in Wired Magazine.
She was appointed to serve on the CCST Board in 2010.
