Ed Zschau

Ed Zschau

Zschau is a Lecturer in the College of Engineering at the University of Nevada, Reno and is a Senior Research Specialist at Princeton University. He was a Visiting Lecturer with Rank of Professor at Princeton University during 2000-2013, he was a Lecturer in Engineering at the California Institute of Technology in 2014 and 2015, and he was Professor of Management at the Harvard Business School from 1997-2000. He was the General Manager of the IBM Storage Systems Division during 1993-1995, and he was founder and CEO of System Industries, a computer products company, from 1968 through 1981. In 1982, he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives and represented the Silicon Valley area in the US Congress for two terms ending in 1987. Zschau has an A.B. degree in philosophy (cum laude) from Princeton University and an M.B.A., M.S. (statistics), and Ph.D. from Stanford University, where he was an Assistant Professor in the Graduate School of Business during 1965-1969.

Zschau is the Founding Chairman, Emeritus of The Tech Museum in San Jose, California. He is the Chairman of the Board of StarTek, Inc. (NYSE), and he has been a founding investor and Board member for several young technology companies during the past two decades. His honors include several teaching awards in the Engineering School at Princeton University and the William A. Steiger Award in 1986, presented annually by the National Venture Capital Association to public servants for outstanding service to the Nation. In 1989, he was awarded a Doctor of Laws degree (honoris causa) by the University of San Francisco.
